Southville Joins the Best Higher Educational Institutions in the Philippines and ASEAN in AppliedHE Rankings

ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ (SISC) has made a significant impact in the latest AppliedHE Private University Ranking: ASEAN 2025, proudly becoming the youngest college from the Philippines to be included in this esteemed list. Notably, SISC ranked number 1 in Teaching and Learning in the Philippines and number 4 in the ASEAN region for this criterion, reflecting its commitment to delivering top-quality education. Overall, SISC is ranked 26th in ASEAN and 5th in the Philippines, with an impressive overall score of 65.38.

Among Philippine universities, Ateneo de Manila University emerged as the top private institution with a score of 71.39, followed closely by the University of Santo Tomas with an improved score of 71.36. De La Salle University ranked third with 69.27, while Saint Louis University came fourth with 65.96, just ahead of SISC. Adamson University completed the top six with a score of 64.21.

In the ASEAN region, Malaysia’s Sunway University retained its position as the top private institution with a score of 80.64, followed by Indonesia’s Bina Nusantara University (78.32), Thailand’s Krirk University (75.75), and Malaysia’s Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (73.6) and Taylor’s University (73.37).

The rankings assessed institutions on key criteria: Teaching and Learning (40%), Employability (15%), Research (15%), Community Engagement (10%), Internationalization (10%), and Institutional Reputation (10%).

This year saw increased participation in the rankings, with 100 private institutions across ASEAN countries compared to 80 universities in the previous assessment. Launched in 2022, the AppliedHE Private University Rankings provide an independent benchmark to measure the performance of private universities in the ASEAN region.

SISC’s inclusion in this list reflects its ongoing pursuit of academic excellence. As SISC President Jocelyn P. Tizon noted, “We are proud to be the youngest institution and the only international school in the Philippines included in the AppliedHE Private University Ranking. This recognition will inspire us to continue striving for excellence and innovation in education.â€

This recognition adds to SISC’s impressive achievements, including its Philippine Quality Award for Mastery in Quality Management and Autonomous Status granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
